Your donation will help disabled children and young people build confidence, develop new skills and have greater choice and independence in their lives.
That support can take many different forms. It could help a child access specialist mobility equipment that allows them to move around more independently, join in with family life and take part at school. It could help a young person learn to travel safely on public transport, prepare for employment or gain the skills and experience needed to take their next step.
Every child and young person has different goals. For one person, independence might mean being able to get around without relying entirely on others. For someone else, it could mean travelling to college, completing a work placement, starting a job or building the confidence to speak up about the support they need.
Your donation helps AFK provide practical, person-centred support shaped around those individual goals. It also helps us work alongside families, schools, employers and other organisations to remove barriers and create more opportunities for disabled children and young people.
