Self-employment support for disabled young people

Have you got a business idea? Are you interested in working for yourself, but not sure where to start?

We Mean Business supports disabled young people aged 18 to 25 to explore self-employment, freelancing and starting a small business.

We help young people build confidence, develop their ideas and understand the practical steps involved in working for themselves.

What is We Mean Business?

We Mean Business supports young people who want to explore self-employment, freelancing or starting their own small business.

You might already have an idea, or you might simply want to find out whether self-employment could be right for you. Either way, we can help you think it through and take things at your own pace.

Through one-to-one support, practical guidance and mentoring, we help young people develop their ideas and understand what is involved in working for themselves.

Who is it for?

We Mean Business is for disabled young people aged 18 to 25 who are interested in self-employment.

This could include young people who:

  • have a business idea they want to develop
  • are creative, practical or entrepreneurial
  • want to explore a different route into work
  • would benefit from flexible employment options
  • need support to understand the practical steps involved
  • want to grow their confidence before taking the next step
