AFK at Wimbledon for Wheelchair Tennis

AFK soak up the atmosphere witnessing one of the fastest growing wheelchair sports on the planet

Britain’s Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid denied 11th straight Grand Slam title after defeat in wheelchair doubles final.

The top-seeded British duo were beaten 6-3 6-1 by the second seeds in the final on Court Three, marking their first Slam defeat together since Wimbledon in 2019.

A funding boost for the sport

In 2021 the UK Government announced £22million of investment into public park tennis courts in Britain.

Park tennis courts are vital community assets that can help open up the physical and mental health benefits that being active through tennis can bring to communities.

Park tennis courts are particularly important in providing affordable, engaging and accessible opportunities for more female players and those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and those with disabilities and autism.
